Favorite Online Boutique

I think everyone has their favorite little fashion boutique, whether it is a local business or one that you found online. I found my favorite boutique through Instagram. I suppose I have been a fan for a few years now, because I have multiple items from there.

Mostly, I have purchased dresses, but I have found some cute sweaters in the winter as well. Last year, I found a midi shirtdress in a super busy pastel print. I haven’t worn it yet this year, but I wore it a lot last year. It is still in my closet and I will definitely be wearing it again.

The name of the boutique I love is Ruthie Grace and it is in Montgomery, Texas, 50 miles north of Houston.  It is a woman owned business and the owner has a knack for finding the cutest, most unique pieces.

Now for me, I will see an outfit on their Instagram or in an email, I will browse for a little while and then go on about my day.  If a couple of days later I am still thinking about a particular outfit, I may come back to it.  This has backfired on me in the past, because Ruthie Grace’s best selling items can sell out within 24 – 48 hours!

They list new arrivals every Thursday and their best items sell out quickly!  You can sign up to receive an email notification if they restock – every time I have signed up for restocks, I have been able to eventually get the item I wanted.  Also, be sure to get on their email list and you will receive an email when they do restocks. Not to mention, you will be notified of sales and discounts when they come available.

I feel like the items I get from Ruthie Grace are what I would call SHOWSTOPPERS!  By this, I mean that when I wear them, I get compliments all day long, every time I wear them, and people constantly ask “where did you get that?”

Today, I have two outfits to share with you from Ruthie Grace.

First up, this blue and white toile mini dress is so amazing!  I have been drawn to toile patterns since my mid-twenties, both in fashion and in home decor!  I had a great pair of blue and white toile pants when I worked in the corporate world that I still think about all these years later!  The dress is a lightweight denim, in fact, very lightweight for denim.  I initially ordered it in a medium and it fit PERFECTLY, but I was afraid it would shrink in the wash, so I returned it and ordered a large instead.  Isn’t it so pretty?  It strikes a great balance between casual and dressy. I could see this worn to a country concert with white boots, worn with flats for a day at a museum, or with a wedge or block heel sandal for church or date night.  Also, IT HAS POCKETS! Unfortunately, at the time of publication of this post, this dress is sold out, but I still wanted to share it because it is a great example of the unique looks that Ruthie Grace carries.

Next up, we have this really LOUD and busy two piece set.  I was very intrigued about this set because it is SO busy!  I love all the colors, I love the retro feel of the print, the fonts, the colors, and I that it is two pieces.  It is so bold that I actually talked myself out of it, but came back and purchased it the next day!

I purchased in medium size and it fits great, other than length. I am 5"‘ 6”. I am debating having the pants hemmed about one inch so that they don’t drag the ground when I wear flats, they are fine with heels.  I thought the set together looked too much like pajamas, so I mixed it up a bit with some solid colors to get a few different looks out of it.

First, here is the set together. I like it, but I can’t get over the pajama feeling.

Ruthie Grace Paradise Found Shirt & Pant Set

Here is a photo of the back of the shirt – isn’t it the coolest print and awesome, bold  colors? It makes me think of old motels with neon signs: Vacancy/No Vacancy, and each room had an exterior door. There was no lobby in those motels, just an office where you picked up the key. Remember those places?

Next, I paired the pants with a black tank top and black linen vest with black slides. I think the addition of black tones down the boldness so much – this is my favorite look of all!

Ruthie Grace Paradise Found pants paired with Scoop black linen vest from Wal-Mart.

The tank top is a basic cropped tank from Old Navy, and the linen vest is from the Scoop line at Wal-Mart.  (Unfortunately, sold out at the time of publication.) The shoes are handcrafted, bought on our trip to Greece last October.

Next, I added a feminine, denim tie strap top from (last season) Old Navy to the pants, with a block heel. The denim really tones down the colors also, and is a nice, fitted balance to the flowy pants.  The shoes are from Target last year, they have a couple of similar options this year, I have links to them below.

Next, you see me with a pair of long tailored shorts and the top tucked in with a block heel for a fun but tailored look.  The shorts are part of my Easter suit from Wal-Mart. I got a blazer, slacks and shorts for about $75 – these are part of the Scoop line.  Shoes are from Target, see links above.

I really like the outfits using the separates with some of my basics.

Wouldn’t you know, a few days after I ordered the set, Ruthie Grace listed a few items in the same print and a variation of the print? These options would be super easy to style, no mixing or matching necessary, just pick a great pair of earrings, some fun heels and go! I am tempted to go back and shop again – you can see the items here:

Let me know what you think about Ruthie Grace boutique!  I am always on the lookout for a good online shopping experience, so share your favorite boutique below.
